NISSAN LEAF RANGE & CHARGING
A FULL DAY OF RANGE
DESIGNED FOR HOW YOU REALLY DRIVE
Nissan LEAF is engineered for the real world. Which means you can go up to 195 kilometres on a full charge. For most people, that’s plenty to cover a daily commute. Energy-saving drive modes provide greater efficiency, while the Multi-Function Display Drive Computer keeps you in the know on power used/generated, battery charge, charging times, and more. Range based on New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) — actual range may vary.

GETTING THE MOST FROM EACH CHARGE
GO FARTHER
Simple steps like setting a moderate cabin temperature and pre-heating or pre-cooling your Nissan LEAF while it’s still charging can save more of the battery for the road. And you can do all of this via a smartphone or computer, or simply set a timer. While on the road, driving at slower, constant speeds maximises range, as does driving in ECO or B Mode. Plus, whenever you brake, regenerative braking technology converts energy that would otherwise be wasted into battery energy.
ECO MODE: EXTEND YOUR RANGE
For the most efficient use of your battery’s charge, the Nissan LEAF features an innovative Eco Mode. Activating it limits the motor’s output, cuts back on the climate control, and increases the regenerative braking, which helps improve range by up to 10%.
B MODE: GENERATE EVEN MORE ENERGY
To enhance the Nissan LEAF’s regenerative braking capabilities, simply activate B Mode. In addition to charging the battery whenever you brake, the system will also charge it anytime you take your foot off the accelerator.
REGENERATIVE BRAKING CAPTURES ENERGY
The Nissan LEAF’s regenerative braking system converts some of the energy you lose from braking into extra charge for your battery. That means every time you slow down, this ingenious system captures some of that energy and stores it for later.
DRIVING RANGE METER
How many km do you have left in your driving range? You’ll always know instantly when you glance at the Driving Range Meter. The number of bars shows you how much farther you can go, and is regularly updated based on your power usage and driving style.
POWER METER
This simple power meter makes it easy to keep an eye on your power consumption. The lights track left or right to show how much power you’re using – or how much you’re generating, thanks to the Nissan LEAF’s regenerative braking system.
NISSANCONNECT EV
KEEP IN TOUCH WITH YOUR NISSAN LEAF
The innovative NissanConnect EV information system links your Nissan LEAF to your smartphone or computer, so you can keep in constant touch – wherever you are.
FROM YOUR SMARTPHONE
With the available NissanConnect EV app, you can schedule or activate a charging session, monitor your charge level and driving range, and pre-heat or pre-cool the car while it’s plugged in, which saves more of your battery’s charge for the road ahead.
FROM YOUR TABLET OR COMPUTER
Enjoy even more ways to make driving electric easy and fun. In addition to everything you can do from your smartphone, you can check your driving history, plan the most efficient routes, and even see how your efficiency ranks among other Nissan LEAF owners.
THREE WAYS TO CHARGE YOUR NISSAN LEAF
CHARGING OPTIONS
Charging your Nissan LEAF is simple. Plug it in at home, just like your smartphone, or make use of fast-charge stations which provide an 80% charge in just 30 minutes.
PUBLIC QUICK CHARGE
30 MINUTES
With the available quick-charge port, you can plug in at DC fast-charge stations and reach an 80% charge in about 30 minutes. Ideal for when you’re out and about and want to top off your charge.
LEVEL-2 CHARGING DOCK
6 HOURS
Charge your Nissan LEAF overnight using a home charging unit and reach full charge in approximately eight hours. With the optional 6.6 kW onboard charger, you can reduce this time to just six hours.
OPPORTUNITY CHARGE
12 HOURS
Nissan LEAF also comes with a 110/120-V opportunity-charge cable. Although the rate of charging is slower than other options, this allows you to access charging anywhere there is a suitable outlet.
CHARGING AT HOME
THE NEW WAY TO FILL UP
Filling up takes on a whole new meaning in the Nissan LEAF. Just plug in, and you’re good to go.
WAKE UP FULLY CHARGED
Install the optional home charging dock and you’ll get a full charge in as little as six hours with the newly standard 30 kWh battery and optional 6.6 kW onboard charger. Your local dealer can refer you to an approved home charger supplier for a precise quote and more information.
TIMER MODE LETS YOU CHARGE OFF-PEAK
Designed with flexibility in mind, the intelligent home charging port (sold separately) offers a Timer mode that starts and stops charging at designated times – which lets you take advantage of off-peak electricity rates. Or begin charging the Nissan LEAF immediately. The choice is yours.
OPPORTUNITY CHARGE
For homes without a home charging dock, or when you’re away from home but can’t access a high-speed public charging station, the Nissan LEAF also comes with a standard charging cable. While slower than other options, this lets you charge anywhere you can find an outlet.
CHARGE ON THE ROAD AT PUBLIC STATIONS
A FASTER WAY TO FILL UP
Because public charging stations use high-voltage DC power, charging your Nissan LEAF at one is very fast – and often free. And with an ever-increasing number of charging stations popping up, you might go farther in a day than you even planned.
QUICK CHARGE PORT
The available quick charge port, located just left of the orange Level-2 charging port, allows you to plug in at public DC fast-charge stations and reach an 80% charge in about 30 minutes.
FIND YOUR NEXT CHARGE WITH THE LEAF EZ-CHARGE APP
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGE INFRASTRUCTURE
Locate public charging stations and connect with Nissan LEAF owners by downloading the LEAF EZ-Charge app. Powered by PlugShare, the LEAF EZ-Charge app maintains the world’s largest database of EV charging stations, and Nissan LEAF owners get special access to PlugShare’s No Charge To Charge filter, which finds participating charging stations for you. The app also includes a Trip Planner, so you’ll know exactly where to charge even before you begin your next journey.

TOP OFF AT A NISSAN DEALER NEAR YOU
In addition to the growing number of public quick-charge ports you can access with your Nissan LEAF, many Nissan dealers are offering quick chargers you can use free of charge. So topping off is now even more convenient.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING NETWORK
EV charging stations are starting to appear all over the world. Additionally, major initiatives are underway in some areas to create charging or “green” corridors that allow long-distance driving along popular routes.
