NISSAN LEAF PERFORMANCE & BATTERY
the leaf driving experience
amplify your rush
Say “hello” to your seatback – Nissan LEAF’s 100% torque off the line introduces you right away. It’s instant acceleration that brings a fun, new kick to your everyday to-do list. And the LEAF’s low centre of gravity means curve-hugging and easy control in the driver’s seat. So whether you’re on the highway, running errands, or taking the long way home, 100% electric power makes getting into your Nissan LEAF one of your favourite parts of the day.
GET UP AND GO
You’ve probably never driven anything like the Nissan LEAF. And you’ve probably never felt anything like its instant torque. The power is there the instant you touch the pedal. There’s no lag, no revving-up or shifting gears – it just goes.
THE NEW SOUND OF ‘VROOM’
Say goodbye to the vibration and engine noise of every other car you’ve ever driven. With an advanced 80 kw AC synchronous electric motor, you’ll enjoy incredibly quiet driving and the smoothest ride you’ve ever experienced.
NO PETROL – EVER
Nissan LEAF is 100% electric. Not 50%, or even 99%. Its motor is powered exclusively by an advanced lithium-ion battery that you can charge at home or on-the-go. Which means, unlike hybrids, there’s no heavy petrol engine in addition to the electric drivetrain.
ZERO EMISSIONS
Most cars, even hybrids, release tons of CO2 tailpipe emissions every year. But the Nissan LEAF doesn’t use a single drop of petrol. And no petrol means no tailpipe, no fumes – and absolutely no emissions.
Standard 30kWh Battery
go on a power trip
Nissan LEAF now offers a standard 30 kWh rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, designed to provide clean, reliable power. Your range now goes up to 125–200 kilometres on a full charge. Based on New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). Actual range may vary.
RENEWABLE RANGE
Nissan LEAF’s lithium-ion batteries are half the weight and twice the power of the nickel-metal hydride batteries used in hybrids. The battery layout fits snugly under the floorboards, which allows for interior roominess and plenty of space.
enjoy peace of mind with LEAF’s battery warranty
worry-free, as it should be
We want you to enjoy worry-free electric driving for years to come. That’s why we back the lithium-ion battery on every Nissan LEAF with an 8-year/60,000-km (whichever occurs first) limited warranty on vehicles equipped with the newly standard 30 kWh battery. It’s just one of the many warranties designed to keep you driving – and smiling – well into the future.
PROTECTION AGAINST GRADUAL CAPACITY LOSS
The comprehensive Nissan LEAF lithium-ion battery limited warranty also protects against capacity loss below 9 bars of capacity (out of 12) as shown on the LEAF’s capacity gauge for a period of 8-years/60,000-km (whichever occurs first).
COMPLIMENTARY RENTAL CAR PROGRAM
For added assurance, participating Nissan LEAF dealers will provide a complimentary rental car whenever a warrantable repair is performed within the first 36 months or 36,000 miles (whichever occurs first) of ownership. See your Nissan dealer or the Warranty Information Booklet for complete details.
WHAT’S COVERED UNDER THE EV SYSTEM
Your Nissan LEAF’s Electric Vehicle (EV) System provides coverage for its electric motor, inverter unit, VCM, reduction gear, DC/DC converter, onboard charger, onboard charger connector, and the trickle charge cable. For complete details, see your Owner’s Manual.
an aerodynamic exterior that slices through the air
never be a drag
LEAF is aerodynamically designed to help keep wind resistance down and efficiency up. And a drag coefficient of 0.28 is something to celebrate. Low-resistance rolling tyres also come standard and reduce the vehicle’s energy output.
LED Head Lamps
LED low-beam head lamps use half as much energy as traditional head lamps. Plus, they’re aerodynamically designed to maximise efficiency. We call that a win-win.
FLAT UNDERBODY
The Nissan LEAF’s flat underbody seamlessly meshes with the front spoiler and rear diffuser, so it slips through the air with minimal resistance.
LEAF Driving Dynamics
carves corners and hugs curves
Stay grounded, thanks to Nissan LEAF's low centre of gravity.
Low Centre of Gravity
With a battery mounted in the floor, the Nissan LEAF has a low centre of gravity that provides a stable, secure feeling in corners and curves. This configuration offers other benefits too, like added interior roominess and plenty of cargo space.
